What a great way to spend a Saturday morning... reading Two Wolves by Tristan Bancks. A fast paced, edge of your seat book about a teenage boy, Ben Silver and his family.
The story gets underway immediately as you read the first page. Ben's parents, as he quickly discovers, (but tries to ignore) are on the run from the police. They take Ben and his sister Olive with them, telling them they are going on a 'holiday'. They have never been on a family holiday before. There are many clues along the way that Mr & Mrs Silver are not the kind of parents Ben wants them to be.
"An old man tells his grandson one evening that there is a battle raging inside him, inside all of us. A terrible battle between two wolves.
One wolf is bad - pride, envy, jealousy, greed, guilt, self pity.
The other wolf is good - kindness, hope, love, service, truth, humility.
The child asks, 'Who will win?'
The grandfather answers simply, 'The one you feed.'"
A gripping novel for Middle School students, you won't want to put it down until you have read the last page!
Well today I delivered the final cakes to the classes who completed the Premier's Reading Challenge before the finishing date. This year I am proud to say that I baked 16 cakes for the classes in Years 4 to 9...
The BEST result ever!

A huge achievement of 100% completion for the Junior School!! AMAZING!!!
Middle School completion rate - 94.5%!
Therefore, completion rate for JS + MS = 97.25%! Also AMAZING!!
Some students in the JS and MS read more than 150 books each!
